My Story

Hi I’m Angela, a hairdresser, educator, and the founder of Indie Hair Academy.

I started out exactly where many hairdressers do: scissors in hand, big heart, huge passion… and absolutely no roadmap for running a business. I was great at hair, but behind the scenes I struggled........

Pricing felt awkward, marketing felt overwhelming, and no one had taught me how to turn my skills into a sustainable income.

So I learned the hard way. Through trial, error, late nights, and real-life experience, I figured out how to build a successful independent business one that gave me confidence, stability, and freedom. And once I did, I knew I couldn’t keep that knowledge to myself.

Indie Hair Academy was born from that moment.

Why I’m Different

I'm not a corporate business coach who’s never stepped behind the chair. I’m a hairdresser who has lived it.

I understand the long days, the emotional labour, the client juggling, and the burnout that can creep in when passion isn’t matched with structure. That’s why everything I teach is practical, relatable, and designed to be used immediately.
